Every year thousands of people come to Don Wes Flea Market, not just to shop, but to enjoy live music entertainment and other events.  Located on the edge of Donna, Tx and Weslaco, Tx, the RGV's largest indoor, outdoor fleamarket is visited by Winter Texans & Locals from October thru April.

     GORDY & DEBBIE

Gordy & Debbie are from Branson, MO - they each have spent the last twenty-five years in the entertainment industry.  They first met in 2005 and by 2006 their love for music and each other grew into a husband and wife signing duo.  They also have made apprearances on several Branson stages - The Gordy and Debbie Show at the Branson Mall Center Stage.  The Jackson Cash Show (Johnny Cash Tribute) at the Caravelle Theatre.  Branson Country USA, a nationally syndicated LIVE radio show, broadcast from the Grand County Theatre.  The Turkey Creek Opry at the IMAX Little Opry Theatre, as well as their own show recorded LIVE at the Jim Stafford Theatre.

                                  MARIO ROSALES

 

Mario Rosales was born and raised in Southern California, one of eleven children in a very musical family.  He began playing piano and violin at the age of five and later learned to play the clarinet, saxophone and guitar.

Mario has spent many years as an actor, voice-over artist and stand-up comedian in Hollywood, California.  He also worked in radio as a talk show host.

In 2004 he chose singing as his main career path which eventually led him to his current home in Las Vegas, NV.

Mario's shows include his amazing impression of the late great comedian Rodney Dangerfield and a very electric selection of music encompassing several musical genres

                  Hired Hands

Regan James - Hired Hand is fairly new to the Rio Grande Valley and is attracting attention at different venues with high energy, great entertainment, and music.  Regan James (Swedeen) lives in Minnesota with his wife Char in the Summer months and has made his home in the Valley since 2013.  In the Winter time, Regan James plays bass for the Valley's "Sipe and the Country Playboys" and for Ohio's "David Church's" very popular "Hank Williams" show in the Valley.

Regan James also appeared with David Church on RFD-TV's Midwest Country Show, as well as Connie Lee and Friends radio and TV show at Tennessee Roadhouse, Alexandria, MN.  In Minneapolis, Regan James plays bass & sings vocals in the popular band Country Doctors, named Best Country Show 2002 in City Pages publication.  Members of the Country Doctors have been playing together for 16 years.  During the Winter months the Country Doctors bring in a sub bass player for Regan but is welcomed back every summer after returning from the Valley.

Regan James has performed in shows with national stars as Ray Price and has played bass guitar for Lynn Anderson, Tommy Cash, Marvin Rainwater, Sherwin Linton, David Church and Connie Lee.  Regan prides himself in his ability to sing all genres of music including Classic Country, newer Country, and 50's through 80's Rock music.  He believes the most important thing is entertaining the crowd and learning and playing their requests! 

Booking dances and shows in the Valley; no venue is too big or too small.  Last fall Regan completed his "Livin' The Dream" CD (14 songs).  He has received very positive feedback on it and is available for sale at his shows - Be sure to check out the Regan James/Hired Hand Bank; you won't be disappointed!

                                    Jim Staton

 

 Specializing in dance music and shows, Jim sings and plays lead guitar to a variety of Country, Rock, and Popular music from the past to the present.  He has been a hit with Winter Texan's since he arrived iin the Rio Grande Valley in 2009 and now lives in Weslaco, full time.

During his forty year musical career he has performed throughout the US, including several engagements at the original Gold Nugget in Las Vegas, NV. and in Branson.  He completed four musical tours overseas, for the US Air Force and had the opportunity to perform with several well known artists including:  Wanda Jackson, Bob Willis, Roy Clark, Sammit Smith and Gunilla Hutton among others.

Jim's song list is cimprised of more than 800 selections with more added every season and request are welcome.  Sound quality is provided through the newest equipment available from Bose.

Deanna has always loved music and started doing shows in 2008 at parks in the Rio Grande Valley, including the Rio Valley Opry with Jack Nelson and his band, the Music Festival and other venues as well.

Deanna perform's a wide variety of music which includes Standards, Country, Jazz, Big Band, 50's - 60's Rock n Roll, and evan a little Polka.

Deanna has done programs such as shows for 50th Anniversarys and Luau parties in the Rio Grande Valley

Summer time in Michigan is spent forming with several different artist and groups at the Outdoor Concerts, The Mint Festival, County Fair and several Nursing Homes, Assisted Living and Long Term Care Facilities.

    THE MIDWESTS PREMIER ONE MAN DANCE BAND

The HITMAN (Tim) has been playing the Hits all over the Midwest area since 1976. He has performed at hundreds of Fraternals, Casiano's, Fairs, Weddings, Business Events, Clubs, and all types of Private Parties.  The highlight of his career was performing and recording in Nashville.

In the winter of 2015 Tim came to the Rio Grande Valley for the first time.  He enjoyed performing at such fantastic venues as Don Wes Flea Market, Victoria Palms, Riverside, Magnolia, Casa Del Valley, Alamo Palms, and Dolphin Park.  Tim is looking forward to returning in the winter of 2016.  He will be in the Valley from January-March.

The Hitman enjoys playing a wide variety of music.  Including Country, Classic Rock and Roll, and Standards.

The Hitman's sound is comprised of Live Vocals and Guitar with professional backing tracts, which gives him a full dance band sound.

Jack Nelson, has been performing in the Rio Grande Valley as lead focalist of the County Line Bank he established in 2007.

He was voted Male Vocalist in 2008 at the Rio Grande Valley Music Festival, nominated Male Vocalist at the Manitoba Academy of Country Artist, and nominated for the 2014 Entertainer of the Year at the Valley Star Awards.  Jack Nelson and County Line were voted the 2014 Valley Star Awards Country Band of the Year.

He has appeared at the Dauphin Country Fest in Manitoba and at Wee Fest in Detroit Lakes, Mn. He has also performed on shows with Tommy Cash, George Morgan and several Canadian recording artists.

After much encouragement from family, friends and fans, Jack recorded his first studio CD in June of 2014, realizing a life-long dream.  The CD entitled "It's About..Time" includes many fan favorites, as wellas the song "Who's Right and Who's Wrong", written by Jack.

         Mike Quaintance

From Quad Cities U.S.A. in nortern Illinnois, Michael played music with his trio during the summer months on the Mississippi river aboard the Celebration Belle excursion boat.  Last winter he accepted an invitation to the Rio Grande Valley per a friend's request.  Overwhelmed by its hospitality and fiendliness he made plans to return to perform solo piano at several venues in the valley including stays on South Padre Island.  Michael has also been known to pick a song or two on guitar and will also be performing double duty with the Valley's newest rock and roll band.  "The Classics".  He performed with the doo wop band "Danny and the Junior's".  With such great hits as at The Hop and Rock & Roll is Here to Stay.  He was the opening act for "Billy Ray Cyrus" at the Adler Theater in Davenport Iowa and has appeared on occasion at Casinos throughout Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota.

Michael will take you on a jorney through musical history along with little known facts about the songs.  You're bound to hear your favorites not to mention some "one hit wonders"  Michael Likes to joke around with the audience so be prepared for a laugh or too but please understand he is very passionate about the music.
